2. What are the Triangle Business Builders
basic ground rules?
We are committed to having as few rules
as possible.
In short: Show up on time and give your full attention to the
person speaking just as you would your most valued customer.
This is a members supported group of professionals that meet
on a weekly basis in an effort to increase sales for almost
every industry. We don't try to sell each business that is represented,
but instead we try to listen for anyone who may be able to use
the products and services represented in Triangle Business Builders.

3. What should I expect from Triangle
Business Builders if I join?
It
depends on how much YOU put into it!
Triangle Business Builders is not a quick fix for instant business.
We are a networking group that gives people the opportunity
to pass and receive leads and referrals, and ultimately people
build relationships so others feel comfortable in referring
business to you and your company. Also, people who make a effort
to meet one on one with members outside the group and give useful
10 minute presentations seem to get more leads. People who focus
on soliciting directly to the members of the group lose credibility
and may even be asked to leave the group.
Triangle
Business Builders members will look for opportunities for all
members, but it is not easy to find business for all industries.
Most people find that you get out of networking groups what
you put into them.
The
members of each chapter will only meet once a week but will
see each other at chamber functions as well as other business
events. Triangle Business Builders will periodically sponsor
events so that all of the members can interact amongst the many
different chapters. We will have business after hours, golf
tournaments and other exciting events.

5. What is expected of me if I join
Triangle Business Builders?
Loyalty
to Triangle Business Builders is measured by your attendance
& punctuality. We don't have a quota far the amount of referrals
you must pass, but we do have an attendance policy.
One
aspect that is often overlooked by TBB members is the obligation
everyone has to make all visitors feel welcome. We limit each
chapter to have only one person per industry, therefore eliminating
competition. As visitors arrive, members should greet them and
the relationship building begins.
Once
you join Triangle Business Builders, it is very important that
you come prepared. You should prepare a sixty-second commercial
and know it thoroughly. It is also important to use as much
of the sixty seconds as possible while not exceeding the allotted
time. When it is your turn to do the ten-minute presentation,
you should be thorough and excited. This is your time to shine.
Know what to say and how to say it. You should also leave time
at the end for questions. Prepare and rehearse. (Those who fail
to prepare ...prepare to fail.)
Always
arrive early and get to know the different members and the guests
each week. Try to sit next to different people each week. Talk
to visitors and find out what a good referral for them is. They
will immediately begin looking for referrals for you.
You
have over forty opportunities to network with many professionals
each year. You should treat each weekly meeting as if it is
a meeting with a potential client that you are trying to win
the business of (after all you are trying to get each person
you address to supply you with business opportunities).

What is the attendance policy?
Our
attendance policy is as follows: You will receive two points
if you don't let someone know you will not be attending (preferably
the chapter president). You will receive one point if you have
let someone know you can't make the meeting. You will receive
zero points if you let it be known that you can't make the next
meeting one week in advance. If you acquire more than six points
in a six month period you will be asked to pay a $25.00 fee
to rejoin that particular chapter. If this happens more than
one time in a one-year period the group will be asked to decide
if you should remain in Triangle Business Builders.

What if I have more than one business?
If
this is the case, and you are a PAID member, you will be the
only one in those categories. Once again, it’s a first come,
first serve deal. Each member shall be limited to no more
than 2 businesses per person. For example one member
owned a lawn care business as well as a property management
business and is a paid member, therefore, he fulfills 2 business
categories, lawn care & property management, thus prohibiting
anyone else in representing either of those 2 businesses.

How long does it take before I can expect to see success?
You
may get leads the first day you show up but for most several
weeks to six months. This is about building trust and long term
business relationships that lead to long term business. Some
business tend to get leads faster than other and there is no
magic formula.
